How much power will a 180sx stock clutch handle?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, as the title states, how much power has your stock clutch handled?

or does anyone have some mechanical knowledge as to how much a standard clutch should handle?

Ive got a friend running 200+rwkw in a R33 on a stock clutch.

would be interesting to here from other types of car owners too,

Cheers - Danny.

Too many variables in driving style and age for this. 200kw is relatively stock power for an R33. There's a big difference if he's just using it to get from A to B or clutch kicking it and limiter bashing.

Depends how rooted it is.

I got 6 drift days out of an Exedy stock-spec clutch behind a very mild CA, before it started slipping.

Mate had a 240rwkw redtop, standard clutch disc with aftermarket pressure plate. He clutched kicked/flat shifted everywhere, but never slipped it. He punished the thing for two years, and the guy he sold it to killed the engine with wrong oil+abuse a year later. Clutch disc was still fine.
