localspace 0 Posted March 31, 2012 Car is under an awn warranty and my coilpacks are f**ked however the mechanic were my car is at has got a full claim from them for $1250 to instal split fires on all 6 cyclinders. He wants me to top up another 200 thought which brings the total to $1450 seems a bit steep since splitfires can be shipped to your door for $675? Any insight greatly appreciated. blingcommander 278 Posted March 31, 2012 absolute most he should be allowed to charge is an hour labour to fit them.... takes less than that to do...
localspace 0 Posted March 31, 2012 Thats what i thought. Ill just confront him before i take the car back in cos i could do it my self no problems just wouldnt get the warranty cover. If hes not willing to drop it to $1250 so warranty covers it ill just use a different mechanic.
