Spring Matsuri

Recommended Posts

Hey guys im planning on doing the Spring Ebisu Matsuri this year (May 5th and 6th) and just wanted to see who else was going. This will be our first time to Japan (my gf and i) and dont really know what to expect, I live in Darwin and dont know of anyone else going over so it would be great to tag along with some fellow aussie drift fans so that were able to get a feel for it. The only thing im sure of so far is that ill be purchasing a car through Powervehicles to use, any advice would be great,

Cheers,

Sam

I'll be there, along with a group from Canberra (and maybe Sydney). Hopefully drifting, yet to save any money but I do already have a 180 over there bought through PowerVehicles. Andy and Emily are honest and great to deal with.

I did the November matsuri and will be back in may. Your best bet is to check this link out mate http://www.powervehicles.com/drift-heaven-weeks.html explains everything you need to know.

I highly recommend this trip to anyone that's into drift. Its the best fun ive ever had in drifting and the most ive ever learnt as well, I guess that comes with the amount of track time u get too...

Guaranteed to have a great time dude.

Everyone is heaps friendly while over there, always feels like its a good community spirit, and you'll find the regulars are very free with advice if you ask.

For anyone heading over on a budget, a cheap/reliable missile can be found here: http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/index.php?app=classifieds&module=core&do=view_item&item_id=2350

Paying alot there.. You have to keep an eye on Jetstar as they do Japan deals farily often and inlcuding insurance you should be able to do it all for $700-800 even including luggage space and not carry on.

Since your in SA it should be about the same price as VIC, the QLD guys have it good the flights even cheaper :(

Yeh, i've been looking at that $1000 Qantas flight. Not bad really because I'm not a fan of Jetstar and they haven't had any deals during the period I want to go. I think it's Golden Week leading up to Matsuri, so that's why Jetstar haven't had any deals going.

Get on a whaling ship and they'll bring you here for free.

greenpeace boat for the first leg with a transfer in the ocean somewhere for your second leg on the whaling boat.

Hi Kruges, yeh the old fellas heading over for the 1st time cant bloody wait. Looks like my car will be sorted in the next 2 weeks.

Checked those Jet Star priced & still over a grand from Sydney plus then Adelaide so I'm just doin the Qantas thing for about $1060.

Sounds too hard hanging around to try & get specials & the later u leave it the more expensive the normal ones get

^ Nihonmatsu (the town where the track is located) is a pretty small place. There's a few temples around the city which are nice but no big fashion or shopping areas that I noticed.

Nihonmatsu is pretty boring imo, if she wants more of a shopping place then i would go towards Koriyama, its the more popular place where people from around the area's of Fukushima head towards.

There's a VERY big Electronic shopping center there once you get off the train it goes many floors up and many floors down which is called the Yodobashi, there is also an Internet Cafe in there aswell.

I didnt get to spend any time in Koriyama during the day but at night it still has a big night life so i would say day-time would be just as good with heaps to do..
