Recommended Posts

But yeah if your gonna try fight with brand names dont put precision in that catagory as its in the same catagory as kinugawa.

are u f**king serious? settle down donny

we have put over 40psi through 500hp precisions turbo over a long period of time with out any problems, I dont know of many turbos rated at 500hp that will handle 40 pound of boost

a lot of people think precision is only a new company but its been around since 1980's

they have been used in 5 second drag cars so i wouldnt be classing them in the same category as kinugawa

let me know when kinugawa start breaking records

im sure kinugawa is a great turbo for most street registered cars and im sure they are reliable and what not, im in no way bagging out kinugawa but there is no way they are classed in the same category as precision

kemp precision turbos are made in china and sold in america, they dont make many small frame turbos only big suckers and why would you want to run 40psi to make 500hp? it should be making a efficient 500hp on 20psi, im not bagging precision either as i know what there capable of but i also know there cheaper than kinugawa turbos to buy new from the states, and thats what i ment by classing them together, as there both cheap turbos that perform very well.

not sure where your getting your info from but they are made and put together in the states ( Northwest Indiana to be exact )

precision do make small frame bolt on turbos

4828 = 340hp

5128 = 420hp

5130 = 450hp

5530 = 510hp

all small frame bolt on turbos to suit SR20

available in optional T28 style compressor housing

75-1.jpg

why would you want to run 40psi to make 500hp? i was trying to express how reliable they are and the freaky thing is at this level of boost they still keep making more and more power, the more boost u throw into them the more they love it we find them very very efficient at 40psi

entry level small frame turbos

4854 335hp

4831 375hp

3254 470hp

3231 490hp

5454 495hp

5431 500hp

What precision item would you recommend to get too 280wasps with the typical bolt ons done + nismo 740's, z32, power fc?

Would like some headroom too see E85 for track only conditions in the future, so the boost could go higher when fueling is addresed (only just bought the mentioned items brand new along with a walbro) but regretting it and want twin intank/id 2000's.

Other points are would like to stay low mount and t28 comp cover if possible. Would prefer to stick around 20-22psi on 98 to get around that 280 target.

Other mods are

blitz i/c

Oil cooler

3.5 inch turbo back

Tomei sump

the 5130 as it will make it with ease and provide you with more head room

its also a straight bolt on if u get the optional T28 compressor housing as well

this is why i dont think precision should be class in the same catagory as kinugawa.

the powertune drift car aka terry uses a Precision 5557 rated at 500hp the car makes 400kw

i dont know of many 500hp turbos which can make those sort of numbers

Definantly a fan of these! Had a Garret on my sr only lasted a year, and costs as much to rebuild as it does to buy a new one.

Got a kando t67 25g to go onto my rb25. They are super cheap and just as cheap to rebuild. As for on par with trust they are near identical in every part. Can't wait to get my car tuned and see how much it makes.

keen to see the results on this Nic19.

im contemplating of getting one and putting it on my car (RB25 NEO) as well but i wanna keep it low mounted if possible, dunno if it'll fit/work tho lol they got a internal gate TD06SL2-20G with 3 & 4" front cover but i dont know anyone who's tried this on a RB25 yet so don't wanna be the guinea pig to try the bigger internal gate options lol

KEMP; is there any precision turbos that can be low mounted on a RB25 and will make 300rwkw or more?

don't trust turbos do the same? IMO just sounds like they underplay their hp ratings

wanna keep it low mounted.

possible to get a low mount RB25 manifold to suit 44mm gate?

Depends how much you're willing to spend on the setup to run a cheap turbo I guess. But once you've got the manifold you;ve got it forever.

If I were to run one of these Id just highmount it with a tial gate and be done with it.

Are they extra bling or about the same as the highmount versio. Looks like the highmount mani upside down basically lol

just checked, same price as top mount i believe.

other option is to low mount with stock manifold and custom weld the gate to the rear housing.

top mount would look pretty gangster tho but cops won't like it haha

pretty sure they are the same price. mate was looking at one a while ago, just just got another highmount coz he was too lazy to re-do the pipework

Meh your gone anyway if they pop the bonnet usually I wouldnt worry too much.

If a cop has half a clue alarm will go off when he see's a 4" comp cover you'd think.

almost any turbo can be low mounted with the right manifold

biggest housing u can go low mount is a A/R 70 compressor housing which means u can go pretty big

I just got the TD06SL2-20g 8cm with the 3" intake. Going to low mount on stock s13 Manifold and might to a little installation thread on it. Lets see what it can do on a stock SR20 with Hks 256/264, Nismo 750cc and a nistune.

They are basically Mitsubishi turbos

just to confirm for those people who think that these turbos are made in Japan or they use Mitsubishi parts they do not

im not doubting the quality of the turbo just thought i would clear that up as some people might be bragging false information

Sir, this cartridge was made by our company, not Mitsubishi

We are a professional turbo and turbo parts manufacture in Taiwan.

You can trust the quality.

Thank you&Best Regards

Sachiko

web : KinugawaTurbo

on the tag which is riveted to the compressor housing it says Made in Japan ????

Kinugawa FTW. I'd take one of these over a $2400 twin scroll gtx3071

f**k that! i would rather a twin scroll GTX3071 !!! that turbo matched up with the right manifold would be an awesome setup

Thanks for the help and recommendation for the precision unit Kemp :thumbsup:

Quality and a billet comp wheel for a fraction of the cost of a Garrett unit

I think your forgetting the whole point of this thread, Its not to say Kinugawa turbos are better than your precision's or Garrett's.

They are just cheap, And quality seems to be some where inbetween the china spec POS and Garrett.

Don't care if they are made in Afghanistan, They are getting good results.

Value for money= winning.
