Appropriate footwear

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I've come across somewhat of an issue in my training that could potentially do damage. I am currently wearing asic cross trainers but I've noticed that at higher weights the sole of the shoe compresses and makes me feel unstable when doing squat etc. So basically I was just after some info on footwear people recomend.

Cheers

So a flat sole shoe is basically what I'm after then. Now to find some that go up to a size 14

Definately shoes with flat sole with minimal cushioning. Volleys, cons, slip ons, etc. Cushioning can make ur feet roll and do damage when doing squats. I wish i could work out barefeet, would be so much more comfortable, arnie style.

^^ That's all well and good if you're training at home - most gyms will not allow you to trained barefooted due to insurance.

I don't do anything approaching a high weight but these have served me well and they might let you lift in them...

I bought mine through Barefoot.. Service was awesome.

I'll be shopping for some Nike Frees when my money priorities allow, the Fabram Five Fingers just look too odd.

You all need to try a pair of vibram fivefingers.

They look weird, but great for training. Its pretty much going barefoot. All i wear now for lifting, kettlebells etc. Still stick to normal running shoes for road kms

if you google it, its easy to see they have a big following for lifting and crossfit etc

Volleys are probably your cheapest option, though I still prefer hi-top Chucks.
