Don't worry Muski, I had the same prob with my knuckles jamming on factory lock stop yesterday lol

 

I thought yeah perfect lock stop (still sort of touched it haha) till I get longer control arms for more clearance but didn't consider hitting bumps and it bouncing under the lip of the lockstop and clunking/banging and getting a little jammed up at times, but definitely no massive bind for me

It doesn't bother me one bit coz its an easy fix.

meh got other things to worry about then the rear bar lol

 

sooo after taking the old t28 setup off i thought id may aswell get rid of a few things to neaten up the engine bay.

 

all the aircon, egr and carbon canister shit has been taken out.

the fan shroud has been broken for a while so that's going in the bin and going to replace with a new one.

took off the front mount and found it has a hole in the back of it... which could be the reason why it was never idling good.

going to get a new core and just get custom piping made up.

power steering reservoir relocated to where the carbon canister was.

battery is going to be relocated to the boot.

fuse box relocated to under the dash.

top half of the intake manifold is off so i can change to bigger injectors and to block off any unused vacuum lines.

also got a surge tank and external pump so just need to grab some fuel line and plumb it all up.

 

looks pretty shit now but will look heaps better after everything goes back on.

where are you moving the fuse box to? there really isn't anywhere to put it if you still have the heater/fan

the fuse box relocation is the very last thing on the list and will only do it if i can be bothered at the time.. but yea if i was to move it, it would be where the heater core would be.

Absolute bitch of a job if your not removing the dash aswell, You can move it to behind the drivers seat very easily on the stock length.. I doubt you would be sitting the seat that very far back for it to be much of a worry.

speaking to jamjam about it yesterday and he said its not that hard to do but yea its a dash out job but like i said only doing it if i can be bothered. jamie said he'll help me do it so if he motivates me to do it then it will get done.

i moved the fuse box into my glovebox, haltech ecu is in there too, didn't remove dash either, it's neat and functional, everything works, wasn't too hard

makes the engine bay so much neater

I've seen a few people also move it to the boot. On top of the hump where the fuel pump thing is. That's probably going to be where mine goes because I'm keeping ac and my heater

Dont you just love removing that EGR shit :hammer: thank f**k my s14 engine is jdm none of that shit on it lol, make a plate up to block off the hole in the runners ;)

Yea gotta pick up some cutting discs so I can make up a plate hopefully tonight.

 

Also removing the air con pump... Question I have is do I need to get a shorter belt after Iv removed the pump or can I just run no belt coz the only thing on that line is just an idler pulley...?

Yea that's what I thought but for some reason all the write ups say to put a belt on hence why I asked if its needed.
