cheers. I've tried to make them look as natual as possible even though they're far from it hahahaha. The goal is to have them done so If someone who doesn't know photos looks at them they might question if they were lit or not but it's not obvious.

A couple more... When the whole set is done I'll be posting in the car shoot section here.... since it's a silvia haha

The sunset shot is important because the set is going to transition from day to night.

I got to break out the lights last (last) weekend on the silvia shoot. Forgot how much fun painting is! It's like your god! 100% control of the light and the image. well maybe not a god but more like a painter than a photographer. Your not capturing, but more creating. Love it.

thanks NA.

Kory, I had 2 versions of the shot, one less lit. sat on them for a while, revisited then decided the lighting added a more to it. It looks cold and lively, the 'cleaner' version looked pretty lifeless to me. It'll grow on you dude. haha

also have the smoked version too...

Thanks man!

I only had enough time with the car for one shot, and had to shoot it in the workshop. This is what I came up with..

Hi Mate.

How do you find working with a crop sensor camera?

Do you find there are some limitations interms of lense choices?

Would you upgrade to a full frame?

Sonny.

Hi Sonny,

Obviously I'd prefer a full frame, but the crop was all i could afford. I didn't think of it a limitation but rather a challenge to try and push the old D90 to it's limits. Not that I have to worry about that now, just purchased a Full Frame D800.

The crop body actually worked to my advantage during motorsports and events, giving me a bit of extra length on my long lenses. I know that full frame you can crop to the same but seriously who wants crop a 1000 photos?

So yes I would and have upgraded to FF. but mainly for my feature styled shoots. I'll probably keep rocking the D90 at bigger events as a 2nd lens.

p.s. those roadtrip shots are all FF on D800.

Oh I see.

So by getting the extra reach you must have used the normal lenses on the D90 body right?

I noticed a bit of vignetting on the FF shots. But the clarity in the images are awesome from the D800.

Thanks for sharing your photos.

Sonny

After a year of f**king around shooting I knew I'd upgrade at some stage, so I started upgrading lenses slowly. The glass is more important than the the body. I've been using good nikkor glass for a while now, i'd just throw them on the D90. Now I've got the FF body though i'm slowly unlocking the power of the glass :)

Sharing is my pleasure :)

Here's one from yesterday...

dude there is something so refreshing and different about your shots, alot of photographers all fall in line and you cant tell who has taken a particular picture....i dont even have to look at watermarks to know you have taken them!
