aym23q 5 Posted March 15, 2010 For now go with Nissan recomended oil 7.5/30 genuine nissan fill up 5 litres in the meantime head over to SAU and see what others are using
Noobles 5 Posted March 15, 2010 Penrite Everyday Synthetic 10w-
RB26DET 0 Posted March 15, 2010 Royal Purple 10w 40 i think the weight is with mine. made the switch from Motul and don't regret it one bit
GFUNK 35 Posted March 15, 2010 how many k's on the clock? 10w40 is probably a bit thin for the age/km's of your engine, assuming its got over 100k on the clock id use castrol edge sport 10w50 but yeah if its low km 10w40 will be ok, especially for winter For now go with Nissan recomended oil 7.5/30 genuine nissan fill up 5 litres in the meantime head over to SAU and see what others are using maybe if the engine was brand new...lol
RB26DET 0 Posted March 16, 2010 I was thinking of going 10 50 however having just clicked over 65k i figured it should be right and jesus did it make a difference. the engine itself felt smoother (slightly) witin 2 services the oil is draining out alot cleaner to compared to that 300V Chrono that i used to use
HUSTLA 5 Posted March 16, 2010 Thanks for the quick replys ! Ill go with the 10w40 synthetic

matt_honan 1 Posted March 22, 2010 motul 300v chrono 10w40 seems to be the go, ive had no drama's with it ever!
RB26DET 0 Posted March 23, 2010 Its not a bad oil however when i was buying it, it was $94 or so for a 4litre bottle... which meant i had to buy two lol i am paying $98 for a 5 litre bottle of Royal Purple and i noticed a big difference in the two, the oil drains alot cleaner now (after the first 2 cycles of RP) it alwasy drained veyr very dirty when using the 300V. also doesn't mean much but the engine feels to be a little more free revving now with RP compared to 300V

Edd-GTR 2 Posted March 26, 2010 Royal Purple is THE DOGS BOLLOCKS. I remember some magazine had a big comparison ages ago with actual results and proper testing and the RP shit it in.

Wait are you saying rp is good or bad? I seen two tests and EP came out awesome 10w40 is too thin for a 100km plus rb26 IMO..
