well projectd's first skid pan is the 7th or 8th of march - they're taking numbers now.. so looks like it'll be a good day.

i should be out there for the skidpan. although i dont know if i'll have a car at this stage :P so we'll see

dates for the projectd track days are up on their website - mostly skid pan with a few north days.

IDA are heading down to wakefield a lot this year it seems, as well as a good few north days...

Just as a general aside, Eastern creek run private practice days usually on a friday once a month.. its good for getting used to driving ur car at speed, even though there is no drifting, its still addictive :D

Hi Girls,

I'm curious to know, of the girls who drift/who want to drift. how many of you want to compete on some level and how many are just in it to have some fun/learn something new?

What are your reason's for wantint to/not wanting to compete?

I've heard from a few girls, that they just want to do it for fun, but have not met any girls who want to compete...

I personally am interested in competing, and am working towards entering into a few competitions next year.

edit: Bah my typing skills are shocking before i have coffee! :P

ummmm to better answer that i love drifting do it a lot but only for fun for me competing would be to stressful to me because i have to make us girls look better then the boyz right lol... please forgive me if i messed this up this is my first time i'm writing in a forum :) Edited by sparkles

lol d/w sparkles u did fine :)

yeh i dont doubt that competing is gonna be stressful... but i don't want to invest all my time and money into it if i'm not going to at least try :) plus it'd be awesome to beat the boys :P

even seeing peoples reactions when just talking about it is pretty funny :) - some guys can be a bit sexist about it still - but its all part of being a female in a male dominated environment.

WOO! going on the skidpan on Sunday! :D so excited!

I use to go out drifting on weekends before it was started in competition.

Good old JMS and few other locations through out Adelaide about 6 years ago.

Was fun while it lasted.

Would look to actually going to competitions and competing but im not building the car to drift any more.

Maybe one day in the future tho.

Defense driving days are awesome fun, you'll learn alot about the car you are driving doing those.

Did one about 6 years ago also, fun day out at mallala.

I drift. Started doing comps last year. Am also the secretary for Vic Drift now too.. Im a mummy of 3 kiddies the rest of the time, i drift to clear my mind of the daily grind really.. This year should be a big one after we finish reshelling my car after a couple of accidents at the last vic drift day. Will be finished inside the next 2 weeks though :)

This is my old car:

Nice work Mandi! have any pics of the build up for the s13? I want to put a rollcage in mine... but its my daily so I don't want to drift-appeal it too much, just general under-the-car suspension bits I think..
