Its all about practicing..

I never had any training from anyone using a dslr camera. So im still learning.

Im sure a professional with a better gear and experience would have taken these shots a lot better..

Hopefully i can get there one day.. sigh hahah

But thanks man.. I will upload another pic just for you :P

Cool shots mate, pity I'm rural I can't just go for a walk for shots like this...... ;(

and yeah all my shots for the comps have been done with the stock lenses I got with my olympus e420, so it must be a bogus rumour ! ;P LOL

thats just the distortion of the glass at 18mm dude :P

the IS version definately has better glassware in it than that of the non IS one i used to have lol! they have a nasty habbit of harsh flare tho, nice shots tho, I havent done long exposure shots like that for yonks :P must get back out there and take some i think...

Hey just asking for a friend of mine thats into photography but isnt like a full tilt amatuer ahah

Are you guys getting these shots just by setting a longer exposure or?

long exposure, like 30sec or 1min or even more, then setting the f-stop down to lower the light absorbed by the sensor...

simple example...

aperture-slides.gif

the higher the f-stop the less light allowed in at the same shutter speed, so increasing the shutter speed with it stopped down will absorb less light for longer :P if that makes sense
