KW v3 coilovers (pics of the drop)

Recommended Posts

Hey guys heard a lot of good things about these coilovers but some people seem to be saying that they don't go low enough. Been doing some searching and can't seem to find any pictures of how low they go on s13/14/15. Anyone got some pictures?

cheers guys.

Was reading cos they don't come with top mounts most people are using Tein top mounts ....and the spacer that comes with the Tein's is to tall. So people are cutting it down.

do you need lower then that? If you're more worried about getting low then quality coilovers.....

This!

HSD/BC coilover do a good enough job and are not too steep on the pocket+they go low enough to sit on the rails.

If money is a big factor then go something used but reputable. (Forums is a good place to look for coilovers that were probably looked after by an enthusiast of some sorts...)

They don't go any lower because any lower and the handling will be compromised and KW is all about good handling, not stance. Actually at the lowest KW setting it'll be compromised already...

Yea you guys are right you can't have it all. I guess the real question becomes stance vs handling which can only really be answered subjectively.

Unless you're one of those idiots that start compromising safety for stance.

can i just add that no coilovers were ever designed for stance..not even stance coilovers..

true stance car would be on air bags.

Get some hsd or isc coilovers and if you set your bump and droop up correctly they will ride nice.

Personally I'd like to sit in a car with these as I have a annoying feeling they'd ride a lot better than my BC ERs

Id love to setup someone's bc's to try and get them to be reasonable. I bet the majority of bc's are set on bump stops. I installed a mates buddy clubs and those things took a lot of spring preload to get them to sit off the bump stops. I bet the bc's are the same.

buy drop spinals and go as low as you want on any damn coilover...

options are endless these days for correcting geometry on low cars

Low isn't streetable, at least not in Melbourne anymore - try Westfield's top (cinema) roof carpark and tell me lower is better once you leave your exhaust behind lol

Stance is for posers. Geometry is where it's at.

And to hell with cheap coilovers. Coilovers are for handling, not for posing.

Ive got a set on my s15, Initially they can were set up lower, but with my wheels they could be made to scrub a little on full lock if you hit a bump.....so that was low enough for me and they came up a bit as seen.

Wheels are 18x8.5+30 and 18x9+32 IIRC.

Theyre a good street coilover, comfy, good travel.

I got them with the kw camber plates even if they are stupid expensive.

I would love to compare them to MCA blues or monoflex teins, but they are better than low end teins (flex/super street) by a large margin.

You want stance? Just pull out your stock springs and ride on your bump stops.

Only fans are into stance, just like asking Miranda Kerr to get H sized breast, just f**king dumb

Drop spindles (ie driftworks ect)

you will nearly be tucking tyre on stock struts so can easily go low with coild on the higher side
