S15 differences - All ADM & JDM OPTIONS LISTED

Recommended Posts

So what would you need to change on a ADM S15 to get the power up to the quoted JDM spec cars? Ie. is it just the turbo that was changed or injectors, fuel pump, ecu etc?

a 3 inch exhaust would do it, any boost increase as well would put you well over.

what's the different between those LCD, helicial and viscous?

The helical unit is a mechanical one, I would say "it's better" to save writing a page of boring stuff. At the stock power output, probably no big deal either way.

do you reckon JDM still make that much power with our fuel? I don't think they are... prob dropped to 170 ... with 98 octane.

and to all member that are new to S15, once you are moding it, there is no different in the power output... only different if you want to keep it stock.

I'm pretty sure that it is only the cat that is different. I had issues fitting Jap exhausts with ADM S15. ADM is longer by about 1.2cm

I notice this the other day when I was trying to adjust mine.

part of compliance should be the installation of said dimmer switch...

^ Nope the dash dimmer switch isn't an item on the compliance list. It wouldn't be too hard to retrofit however if you really wanted it.

Under the old green plate system it was... but i hear that many such things have been dropped under the purple sticker system... including the fuel filler spout, anyone else heard of this too?

just did a quick bit of research to answer my own query... FYI (if anyone cares)

ADR 37/.. Fitment of unleaded fuel filler inlet restrictors:

FAQ: Is a vehicle that is required to meet ADR 37/00 or 37/01 required to be fitted

with an Unleaded Fuel Filler Inlet Restrictor?

Answer: No. The intention of changes made to the RAWS Evidence Guidelines and

registered on 13 September 2006 was to remove requirements for Fuel Filler

Inlet Restrictors. This intention was detailed in the explanatory statements for

these Guidelines.

While this is not clear in the Sample Vehicle requirements, VSS inspectors

will not require Sample evidence, prepared to meet the Motor Vehicle

Standards (Approval to Place Used Import Plates) Guidelines 2006 (No. 1), to

show compliance with clauses 37.3.7 of ADR 37/00 or 6.7 of ADR 37/01.

Just a question

The Nissan Silvia Autech is at roughly 149kw.

How much more can these be tuned to and what power figures are people getting?

Also there are very little of them in Victoria and alot in NSW and others?

sorry to resurrect an old thread...

does the brake spec on JDM & ADM S15 is the same?

my data shows front 280mm is vented and rear 258mm is solid but that is based on DBA's ADM spec.

JDM cat is 1 inch shorter.

I had to get one as my exhaust system didn't fit properly with the ADM cat.

Would an ADM exhaust fit on a JDM exhaust from the cat back (i.e. just bolting on the rest of the ADM S15 exhaust onto a JDM cat)??

How much difference does the bb turbo make over the bush turbo?

it makes a great difference the BB is more responsive and has tendencies to kick in harder and faster at lower rpm
