Engine is sr20de, but I already bought sr20det and assembly (it was particularly disassembled, didn't buy from auction, my friend sell it to me), so it will be soon turbo stock(I hope that))).     Hi, Looking to buy an s13 sr20de engine, preferably with the a manual gearbox as well. Looking to rebuild it so condition doesn't have to be perfect. No need for loom or air boxes etc. Im located in Sydney so in or around Syd would be preferable.

So I own an s15 silvia varietta, and during the hot weather spell in Melbourne (30~ celcius), was taking my car out for a spin and the car wasn't starting.. finally got it to start, then when i stopped at the traffic lights, the engine cut out randomly and it took a while for me to start the car again. This same problem also happened the day after (hot day again). Prior to this i've never had any problems with the car, been driving it now that the weathers cooled down and it runs 100%. Anyone know what the problem could be??
  8. WTS. Got a rb25det series 2 judging by the exhaust cam gear were the sensor goes in. New gates racing timing belt and pulleys. New water pump. New thermostat. New cam seals, crank seals. Sump resealed and painted. Block painted. New rocker cover gasket kit fitted. Rocker covers painted. China FFP and 80mm tb. Top feed fuel rail. Also got a 25 gearbox to go with it. Need to sell for funds for workshop. Looking to get rid of them as a package deal $2800ono will make it cheaper if I install it at my workshop with a cheap labour rate.   11. Hi all, First time poster and a complete noob to the Silvia/180 world so apologies for the potentially novice questions. I just got a 180sx rolling shell that I am intending on putting a new SR20DET in and getting registered. This is my first project car and I am using it to learn. (however my daily is a Stagea so I've learnt a bit out of neccesity as things break haha) My question (I did search the forums but couldn't find a solid answer, particularly for someone who has never done an engine swap before). Originally this car had a "Red Top" SR20DET and I am potentially going to drop a "Black Top" SR20DET in it (only because they are seemingly more readily availble at the moment - would happily drop a red top back in if available). Is this going to be a straight swap? I guess I would have to get a new ECU but beyond that are there any differences I need to be aware of? Also I assume this wouldn't be a problem for getting it blue slipped as it is still an SR20? Any help would be great and apologies again if this has been covered. Thanks,

So, I have been enjoying my s15 very much lately, and I’m quite happy with the awesome little sr20det unit but I got to thinking late one night while on Google about people swapping the iconic straight 6 rb26dett into the s chassis cars. Did some research but didn’t turn up any concrete reading material or opinions. If I was to spend 7-10 thousand on the sr20det over x period of time and aim for around 240-50ish rwkw would you think it’s a better idea to just put that sort of money toward an engine swap that is putting out similar power in its stock oem form? As opposed to spending money modifying an engine to reach said power level but hinder its life and reliability/driveability in the process? As the topic says, this is just for general talking/chat/opinions. Try to keep the hate between each other to a minimal What would you say is involved for the diy man to do such a conversion himself if they had access to friends with welding skills, good knowledge on the Nissan engines and mechanics etc. and was to leave tuning and final set up to a reputable shop? What parts, components, custom work, tools would be required? For a street car, how would you go about engineering it, insurance?   14. hey guys today for some random reason my oil light has started coming on only when the cars in neutral? switches off when its in gear, checked my engine oil and seems to be fine, anybody know why its doing this?

Hey guys, i recently bought a 200sx 1994 s14 but the engine is from a 200sx 2002 s15..atleast thats what i was told.. i wanted to ask if there is anyway of finding out the year the engine was made like a serial number on the engine itself or mayb the engine number mayb able to tell me somthing any one here know how i can find out? thanx
  17. These cam gears are produced by ISC and are of a very high quality! These cam gears are to suit RB20/RB25/RB26/CA18/SR20/1J/2J. The cam gears also have 1 degree increments for finer tuning ability. $199 pair Our engine and gearbox mounts are made from polyurethane and aluminium to ensure the highest quality for your vehicle!     hey guys, my friend bought a supra today and it was working fine on the drive back to my mates house, but after the car was sitting there for about an hour, there was something wrong with the engine.. either the engine or the clutch or gear... the problem is pretty much the car backfires before it even reaches the redline of the car so it pretty much backfires around 3-5k rpms, not only that but when you flat foot it it doesnt accelerate at all.. any ideas ?
