  1. Hello everyone! I’ll get straight to it. I have an S14 with an S15 front already on it, but I’m not very happy with the bumper and fenders on it at the moment. They’re already fitted but the fenders have chips broken off and the bumper is cracked. I also feel the bumper has a “soft” appearance. The car is also about 6 different colors right now so I figured if I’m gonna paint it, I might as well fit other parts I like more. With that said, will original fenders and bumpers fit? I was told that I need “conversion” fenders for it to work but I’ve also read that OEM parts fit best. I found some S15 fenders yesterday but I wasn’t sure if to buy them. I put them against the car and it seemed like they would fit fine except for the lining up on the pillars next to the windshield. The 14’s fender arches up towards the pillar, but the 15’s lines up with the hood. Does anyone have experience with this? Maybe OEM is best? Maybe it doesn’t matter. The fiber glass parts don’t line up perfectly as it is anyway. I hope I didn’t get long-winded but I want to give a good description of the situation. I will give a pic of what he car looks like. The skirts are not yet installed but I was also seeing if they fit

  4. Hey guys, I recently had to reshell my S13 Silvia and my new shell was originally a CA18de, while my original was SR20de which I've now converted to turbo while reshelling. When I went to start it and after cranking for a bit, I noticed it didn't even sound like it wanted to start at all. So since the fuel pump was priming (although it doesn't anymore which is a mystery to me now since fuses seem good) I figured it wasn't getting spark, so I decided to test to see if it was getting spark but holding a coilpack with a sparkplug in it against a bolt on the engine while cranking the motor. After I saw no spark there I decided to crack the test light out and locate the issue. I started at the coilpack loom and quickly found myself at the ECU and realised it wasn't getting any power, which I then traced to the plugs where the passenger headlight is (which I rewired for the conversion according to what I found on the internet) and wasn't getting power to the ECU there either. I also noticed that the EGI relay is only getting power on 1 pin with the ignition on, where as the other relays in the fuse box get power at 2 pins. Is the EGI relay related to the ECU getting power? If so, where does the relay get it's power from? Or would it just be that I wired those plugs at the passenger headlight incorrectly? I just colour matched the wires as per what I read. Any help would be greatly appreciated because I can't figure this out for the life of me, among other electrical issues such as the cluster backlights not turning on, foglights not working, rear parkers/brakelights and only one headlight working, but those are all the least of my worries at the moment.
  5. Wtb cheapest, repairable s15

Hey guys, im after my first Nissan s15. A bit of a dream car and my perfect next project. I am planning on a conversion so the cheaper the better. Please message me with any available cars or tips
  6. Within the next few years I'm going to be doing an engine conversion on my 180sx. Currently it's running a silver top sr20 n/a. I'm going to either swap in a turboed sr (blacktop topnotch version) or a rb26det (single turbo conversion) The goal for the car is to be a daily but semi show car. I'm not looking for massive amounts of power but I will be rebuilding the engine, forged internals, cams, etc etc. The at I assume will be easy, out with the old in with the new basically. And the rb will take more work, R32 front front end, ecu, wiring, tail shaft, gearbox, sump, brakes, and a few other things. Has anyone done a rb26 in a 180 in this forum that's can help out with pros vs cons and questions about it? I'd like the car to be clean have a working aircon, reliable, and handle like its on rails. Cheers in advance

  8. Hi guys had a few silvias and 180's in my time but only recently decided to start a build thread: I purchased my stock standard unregistered 1989 ca18de auto Qs series S13 for $1800 (probably too much), It had been sitting for around 2 years, was in average condition body wise but the underneath was straight and clean, was running rough and the guy i bought it of told me the auto stalled. I picked up the keys went and bought a new battery and it started first shot too the sellers surprise, i drove it home (10 minute drive) with absolutely no problems other than the auto holding gears for too long. Being a P Plater i didn't want to go turbo, My plans were to just chuck a manual box in and some coilers and put it on club rego. The car club i joined was an hours drive from my house, which is were all the problems arose. Because the car had been sitting for so long the petrol was obviously going to be foul, the fuel gage was just above empty so i thought id just top up instead of draining it, After I filled up with petrol and stopped at the next set of lights the revs were dropping and the car would shake as if it was about to stall, from there on overtime i had to stop or slow down the car would stall, so for the rest of the drive id brake with my left foot while accelerating with my right foot trying to keep the car going (was very stressful). Got to the car club they looked over it gave me the paperwork and of i went to Vicroads to pickup my plates. Left the car at my mums house not wanting to drive it because it was stuffed, looked around for a CA18 manual or even bell housing with no luck (I'm very impatient). I found a few sr20de and box combos but no one would separate them, so i was contemplating just doing an sr conversion, but my daily is an n/a s15 and i wanted something different to that. After looking all over the internet I came across a guy who had a smashed r33 gts rb25de manual that had taken a front left hit, it was in a towing yard and had been for 3 weeks, he wanted $1500 for it but ended up giving it to me for the price of the towing and storage fee roughly $800. I had the r33 towed to my mates shop Australian Speed And Custom where it sat up back and we gutted it to a bare shell within the week, I kept what I needed for the rb swap, sold whatever I could then I scraped the rest. Had pretty much brand new HSD coilovers which I traded to Elliot the shop owner who was doing the conversion for his labour. Next was removing the ca and auto, sold that straight away, then put the r33 cross member and steering rack in. Cross member was out by a few mm probably slightly bent from the accident so we slotted the mounting holes and made it fit. I traded the brake setup (4 stud) for a 52 mm r33 rad. Put the RB25DE in and realised the bonnet wouldn't shut, the new radiator also wouldn't fit as it was too high. Did some reading and found that and r32 cross member will sit the engine lower and further back, out came the hammer to massage the tunnel as the bell housing was now touching it, After "massaging: the tunnel the motor and box now fit and the bonnet would shut. Also had Elliot make up a custom gearbox mount. Found a guy on the drift sales page on Facebook who had a Type X and wanted to swap for an s13 front so I jumped all over that and chucked it straight on the guards had a few dents and the brackets holding the bar were missing but a few cable ties later and it all fit up nicely. Next was waiting for the auto elec to come wire it up so the motor had a full service, after the custom loom was done, it was time to test if it all worked.... it didn't, the engine was cranking but it would not start. There was spark, there was fuel in the rail and the injectors were pulsing, but it just wouldn't start. Changed the fuel pump to an r33 pump to see if that was the problem, still not working. Pulled the rail out replaced injectors, but they still weren't squirting. Had the auto elec come back in and check everything, 3 hours later realised the injectors weren't getting a full 12v power so he took power from elsewhere cranked the motor and it started! But the water pump was leaking so ordered a new one. next was getting the clutch to work, put the skyline pedal box in after some customising to make it all fit, only to find that the clutch pedal would foul out on the floor and not pull the master all the way making the pedal not spring back. Tracked down an s13 clutch setup and chucked it in and now its working correctly. Water pump that was purchased doesn't line up correctly so have had to order another one, which hopefully will come tomorrow. Front sway bar hits sump so have purchased a 3 way adjustable whiteline bar that apparently fits, will (update when installed) I purchased som JIC coilovers cheap but have decided not to use them as the rears are not base height adjustable and i want to be able to fiddle around adjusting them to suit the new feel of the car, I also would prefer brand new ones anyway. So when I get my new coilers ill put in the full hard race arm setup I've got and go for a wheel alignment. As this car is going to be a street car I don't want to make it stand out too much so will sit just below legal height and won't go to crazy with camber and toe, but being N/A ill need it to be stiff to get it sideways. I know the car isn't legal for a P plater let alone anyone, but my thoughts are its not turbo and as long as i don't get pulled over by someone who knows the difference between an rb and ca i should be fine. will post up some pics and more info soon i didn't take many as i wasn't going to do a build thread but thought id share it since if you search rb25de s13 all there is is hate about it and people saying its a waste of money.... well this build has cost me around 3k including car, rego, engine, gear box, edu, custom loom, full hard race arms, add roughly 1000-1500 for coilovers and its under 5k for everything. oh and I'm a panel beater so ill be painting it millennium jade free of charge, so to me it seems like a pretty mean streater under 5k and when the time comes for a turbo everything is ready for an RBxxdet to drop straight in
  9. Hey guys new here, Ok done my best to scour this site for all information needed please dont tell me just to 'chuck a sr20det' in it as this is the engine ive decided to stick with since we had most of the stuff available and cheap to do for a project not after huge power (yet, turbo is the long term plan) and i know about the bonnet clearance issue but im sure I can get it to fit. (sitting it low, maybe a custom bonnet mould or foward facing plenum?) So far this is the shopping list: R31 donor car A31 cefiro/R32 crossmember Ford Cortina mounts 'C' stamped gearbox crossmember R32 radiator whitline sway bar tailshaft ?!?!?! diff??? Weld up a bash plate to protect my low sump a good idea? I'm also pretty handy on a welder so I dont mind cutting and welding If thats whats needed to make this project cheaper/easier Is there anything else I'm missing??? Possible to keep A/C? (lol) Thanks in advance I'll make a build thread when i get this project underway
  10. Hi Guys, Due to a huge clean out i'm selling what parts I have that were to be used to build my next S13. Unfortunately circumstances have changes quite a bit and now it all has to go. 11. Hey everyone just wanted to get some in site into what parts I need to purchase to swap my recently blown 6speed to rb25 5 speed into my 200sx s15. Obviously I need the gearbox but apart from that I have no Idea what parts I should NOW be looking for. E.g. do I get a skyline clutch and flywheel or a 200sx one? Do I need a skyline tailshaft? If someone who has already done this or knows exactly what is needed could let me know what they did/I need to buy and any tips, it would be greatly appreciated as I have no car atm and would love to get the problem fixed ASAP!! THANKS AGAIN
  12. Hey everyone. I need help, tips and pointers from people who have done this before or know information on it. So I don't want people saying "go rb20 it's easy" or asking how much power I want. I'm just getting it together and running standard not going massive power now. I have a r32 skyline rolling shell and putting a series 2 rb25det into it. I have gearbox n the custom mounts to fit the 32, the motor and other bits and pieces. 1st, question would be, is a rb20det radiator the same as a rb25det? If not will a rb25det radiator fit in the standard brackets in the r32? 2nd, the loom and ecu I still need to buy but want to know will it all plug and go or do I need to customize the loom to fit the r32 and if so is it a small easy job or do I need it professionally done? Does someone have a step by step instructions for it? 3rd, when I got the car it came with the exhaust from the cat back but no cat, the bolt pattern is 3 bolts and seems to be 4", now I have looked up r32 and r33 cars and they are 2 bolt does anyone have a idea what the 3 bolt goes to? 4th, can someone tag the how to thread for installing a forward facing plenum on a rb25, I have been searching and can't find it. Thanks everyone in advance, I'm sure I'll have more and more questions but a lot of help would be great thanks Mark
  13. Ok so I know this has been done to death, and im not asking for another guide, already done a search and found a few good ones. All I need is some more specific opinions. So my sr20de s13 transmission finally died today, something ive more or less expected over the last 2 years. Pretty sure it was the torque converter seal, absolutely dumped its fluid all over the road from the bellhousing and lost all transfer of power from the engine to the wheels. From research ive done it looks like this repair ballparks in the $1300 region. So naturally this resparked the idea of converting to manual for me like just about everyone has seemed to consider at one point or another. My only hesitation is that I was already planning an upgrade in a year or so and didn't really want to spend the money/time if I didnt have to. So my real qurstions are: what do you guys think would be the best option/ price difference? Also curious who our there has a conversion kit spare and how much? Also anyone who can possibly do it for me and costs involved ? (Not afraid or opposed to giving it a go myself but would rather know it was done right if possible) I should add im in vic aswell i spose. Ty!
  14. S15 Engine in S13

Hey everyone! I'm only new to the forum, signed up because I'm well and truly stuck. I've searched online for hours or multiple forums to no avail, so I'm hoping some Silvia guru can help! I've dropped a S15 SR20DET into my S13. Everything is bolted up, just need to make some new intercooler pipes to fit. My issue is with the wiring. I'm completely clueless; no idea where to start. I have the S15 ECU and wiring loom, so the engine side of the wiring is done, easy. It's the wiring to the S13 dash that has me stuck. I can't even find any sort of diagrams to help me. There doesn't seem to be much info out there regarding S15 engine's in S13's. However, the guy I bought this S15 engine from had it running perfectly (dash and air con, etc included) in his S13. Unfortunately he isn't very available to get information from. Obviously, a step by step walk through would be amazing hahaha But I understand people wouldn't have time to do that for me. So any help would be useful! Advice, pictures, links, anything! I will post pictures of the build when it's finished I'll also gladly post any additional information or images if needed, just ask. Thanks again in advance! I've heard a lot of good things about this forum
  15. hey guys, so i own a 1990 Nissan 180sx with a s13 front end on it and i am looking at removing the s13 front end to put on a series 2 s14 front end on her. basically, i was wondering if anyone has done one or knows of someone who has done one and can give me a few words of wisdom such as, did you use fiberglass gaurds or did you cut and shut a pair of 180 and s14 guards to fit? and how much of a struggle was the headlight brackets?
  16. So, I have been enjoying my s15 very much lately, and I’m quite happy with the awesome little sr20det unit but I got to thinking late one night while on Google about people swapping the iconic straight 6 rb26dett into the s chassis cars. Did some research but didn’t turn up any concrete reading material or opinions. If I was to spend 7-10 thousand on the sr20det over x period of time and aim for around 240-50ish rwkw would you think it’s a better idea to just put that sort of money toward an engine swap that is putting out similar power in its stock oem form? As opposed to spending money modifying an engine to reach said power level but hinder its life and reliability/driveability in the process? As the topic says, this is just for general talking/chat/opinions. Try to keep the hate between each other to a minimal What would you say is involved for the diy man to do such a conversion himself if they had access to friends with welding skills, good knowledge on the Nissan engines and mechanics etc. and was to leave tuning and final set up to a reputable shop? What parts, components, custom work, tools would be required? For a street car, how would you go about engineering it, insurance? Thanks everyone, hope we can get a good, knowledge filled thread going here. I’m sure many Nissan enthusiasts would enjoy a read. Cheers
  17. Well hello everyone! I'm Barney but you guys can call me Barns if you like. And this is my new Baby... 1977 RA28 Toyota Celica Mini Mustang! And this is my Brother Oski and my Mate Ben, together we plan on fixing the old girl up. First of all with a cleanup and service, then Auto to Manual conversion, engine rebuilt and eventually a 1UZFE VVTI conversion More pics momentarily, I can only upload 2mb per post! BTW my face looked retarded in that photo, so I did everyone a favour and scribbled over it!
  18. Ok, First, YES, I HAVE SEARCHED I am currently doing an RB25 conversion into my S14a, Ran into a couple of minor issue's and considering the amount of times this has been done I figure there must be somebody with answer's, Power steering Lines: I am using an R32 Crossmember and mounts/Brackets, Obviously the high pressure power steering line off the S14 crossmember will not fit the R32 crossmember, The low pressure line is easy, but what does everyone do with the high pressure line? I have seen some people say they just bend it, To me, thats dodgy as hell as it is not even remotly close and I am too picky for that crap, I want to use a set of R33 lines I have as it will suit the 25 pump and fit the crossmember perfectly but the ends to the rack are different, Is there a place that can make up this line, (I'm in Brisbane) Also the little (guessing pressure switch) in the high pressure line is on the opposite side, Might just get the wires lenthened but thought it may be possible to also have that changed? Can anyone help? Question 2: Sump/Swaybar Clearence: What does everyone do in this case,I have been told I will need to mod the sump to fit, Also spoke to a lad that just elongated the mount holes on the engine plates and moved the motor back about 15mm, Another that said they had no probs, Anyone had any experence/advise with this? Any other little tricks/issues would be much appreciated, Thanks.
  19. Hey guys... Just wondering if anyone knows anyone round the Melbourne area or any workshops who do auto to manual conversion? Thanks
  20. Hey. I have imported a Nissan Silvia s14 Zenki From Japan to Denmark (Europe), my problem is now that I must have built headlights on to fit in right hand traffic that way. I have divorced lights along but is not sure how I make them, I thought more've talked about that I must make a small metal clamp on to change this, but can not see you giving any change compared to what side light falls. I really hope that there is someone who can help, there must be Zenki owners in Europe? Fortryd redigeringer
  21. Hey all. just picked myself up an s13 yesterday been waiting a while for the right one to pop up in my price range and hey presto it happened. The owner was selling it just to get rid of it, and said that it had the head re built a few months ago cost 4g to do. and a 900 dolla exhaust. but was smoking so he changed the turbo to an s14 one or something, and it kept smoking so he said must be somthing else. comp tested it today came up with 170psi 150 60 and 100 across the four haha. so shes getting pulled out in the next few days. just gonna do rings n bearings and put it back in. pretty excited ! came with all spare bits and pieces to so been sorting through them all. spare trim and what not. and a body kit. cleaned the car to, underneath was covered in dirt and shit. engine bay way filthy. slapped in the tein coilovers that came with it after i cleaned them up, took such a hammering to get them to budge to lower them because they looked like they had been sitting in mud for a while and were a bit seized. cleaned inside came up awesome has s15 seats and some different speakers and jvc head unit. carpet is still a bit dirty though and need to clean seats a bit better. only has one tiny crack on the dash to ! after shes all running ill be painting it up probably silver !?? cant wait anyone wana guess what i paid ???? haha just after picking her up. borrowed my uncles trailer and towed it home with the old ef not a problem. pulling all the stuff out of it sorting through this was before i cleaned it up inside still not bad put grill in and sat front bar on
  22. Hey there, I was wondering if anyone can shed some light with putting an S15 dash and gauge cluster into a 180sx. So far I know there is complications with getting the gauges working properly, any way to combat that, or is there nothing I can do to resolve it?
