  1. 350evo Brembo Brakes (Fronts) To Fit Nissan: Silvia, 180sx (5 stud), s13 (5 stud), s14, s15, 200sx Skyline R32, R33, R34 300zx Z32 100% Made in Australia 100% Engineered in Australia Do you want a better Brembo brake upgrade than the Skyline GTR Brembo brakes for around the same costs? Better performance Wide selection of common pads and rotors Cost effective Here's what we married together: Evo Brembo calipers + ALPHA OMEGA aerospace billet caliper adapters + Evo 350x32mm rotors. 350evo Brembo Brakes under Enkei NT03+M wheels 17x9+15, no spacers used. About The EVO Brembo Calipers We use the common and excellent Mitsubishi Evolution Brembo brake calipers from the EVO 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 (they are all the same). Evo calipers are newer in both design and age, feature external bridges, dual bleed nipples, correctly orientated staggered pistons and all the usual good qualities of a streetable caliper including quick pad changes and dust boots. They are larger and more rigid which all add up to give 'more' and better braking, better feel, better modulation and ultimately better control on the limit. There are a plethora of parts available from Mitsubishi, Brembo and the aftermarket including the largest selection of pad compounds for any brake caliper. All major continents on earth support these calipers so your choices will virtually be endless. Note: We DO NOT use the Evo 10 caliper because the mounting "legs" on them are longer which would make the caliper adapter smaller and therefore not as strong. For more information please see the tech article EVO Brembo Brakes and Adapters. Powdercoating service available, any colour About The Rotors We chose a factory sized rotors so that there would be many different brands and designs available. You can therefore choose the best rotor to suit your application from any corner of earth ranging from budget 1-piece to race-ready 2-piece. Therefore we used the Mitsubishi Evo 10 rotors which measures 350x32mm. These are larger than the majority of rotors to provide more clamping torque and heat handling capabilities to ultimately provide better brakes. Installed About The Caliper Adapters By using a larger 350x32mm rotor we were able to design a caliper adapter that is larger and wider than if we used the smaller 320x32mm rotor, that's why we didn't use the 320x32mm rotor that is standard issue on the Evo 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9. More material means more strength. As with all bigger rotor upgrades there is approximately 3mm of pad overhang which is a small tradeoff for the larger rotor, a bigger and stronger caliper adapter design and better overall brakes. ALPHA OMEGA caliper adapters are 100% CNC machined billet alloy, grade 7075. The 7075 grade of alloy is commonly known as "aerospace alloy" because, as you can probably guess, it's used extensively in the aerospace industry for its light weight and high strength qualities. Note: We DO NOT use the Evo 5, 6, 7, 8 or 9 rotors (320x32mm) because in there is marginal material in the caliper adapter; to make them fit you would either have to grind the caliper webbings or remove material from the threaded section of the adapters. For more information please see the tech article EVO Brembo Brakes and Adapters. Testing since 2011 Features & Benefits: 100% CNC machined billet 7075 aerospace alloy Larger calipers Larger rotors Lager brake pads Better brakes Another install What's Included? 2. Here's some ALPHA OMEGA inhouse data that we often use and wanted to share We put up an article that might be helpful to those looking trying to compare different setups but can't because the dyno sheet is done against SPEED insead of RPM. Some background info and stuff like that is here, as well as details on how to use the lookup table: http://www.ao-ps.com...eddynograph.php And the lookup table is here: Hope that helps
  3. A fair amount of people have asked about these cars and suggested we put up some details about them, so here we go... UNIGROUP ENINGEERING – s14.5 This car has a bit of history behind it. It's been in storage for the past few years since it was built many more years ago but back in the day it was known as the "Schizo Silvia". It's a late model s14 in factory painted "s15 blue" and bodywork wise the theme was to keep it subtle, looking OEM and using as many OEM parts as possible. It was the first Silvia to have full metal s14.5 conversion guards with all Nissan s15 panels and lights and R34 GTR rims (a big deal back then lol). On the drivetrain front it has a built 2 litre SR20DET, HKS cams, 6boost manifold, Trust T518Z, Turbosmart external gate, OS Giken 5 speed gearbox, full carbon clutch, Kaaz diff, Power FC etc etc to push out a "Schizo" 257rwkw – not enough to raise an eyebrow in 2012 but this was high power back in the day, good enough to be cover car for ZOOM magazine: We decided to blow the dust off, take the covers off and do something with it. All it really needs is a massive turbo and some drag radials, but at this point in time the plans aren't set for the s14.5 so we'll just have to wait and see what happens, hmmm... ALPHA OMEGA - R&D s15 This s15 does a little bit of everything but does nothing outstanding. It's not a road registered race or drift car. It's just a daily driven s15 that participates in motorsports, which suits its R&D purpose to a tee. For ALPHA OMEGA the aim of this car is to install, test and review parts to use for ourselves and also to recommend to customers. When there's nothing out there that meets our needs we engineer, design and manufacture the parts ourselves right here in Australia (no Chinese parts here) and use this car to do the install, test and review. Late night and silly early morning (1am+) tuning sessions were had after finishing off customers cars. Because of this role the R&D s15 has few upgrades but many "side"grades. Most would upgrade the turbo once in a blue moon and be done with it, or upgrade the gearbox once in a blue moon and be done with it. What we mean by sidegrade is that one area (like turbo or gearboxes) is changed many times to meet a particular goal; it's swapped, changed or modified until we've got an excellent setup. For example our turbo goal at this very moment is for a big power bolt on low mount turbo, and for the gearbox it was to keep the standard flywheel/clutch setup, fit nice and be reliable. This car is also a test car for other workshops/tuners/companies and it's currently testing the Unigroup turbo aimed at bettering the Trust T518Z, it is scheduled in for testing the new Blackbox ECU setup with infinite mapping capability, some integrated Zeitronix wizardry and maybe even BorgWarner EFR turbos. One car to do all the testing makes the most sense to us. Testament to the excellent Nissan engineering (minus those crappy rocker arms) and the use of quality parts the car has actually been super reliable. Other than one rocker snapping there hasn't been any other breakages in this car, but at last count it's now been through around...... 4 turbos, 3 sets of cams, 6 different gearbox setups, 4 tailshaft setups, 4 clutches (single and multi), 2 diffs, 6 exhausts, 3 brake setups, a stack of brake pads, countless wheels, a heap of race tyres, etc etc The overall aim of this car is to have a streetable Silvia that is alot of fun to drive, can do a bit of everything decently and continues to be practical and reliable. When we have time we'll be sure to update this thread

  8. We were continuing our R&D into the next phase of SR20DET engine developments, in particular fuelling, and came across 1000cc sidefeed injectors that would go straight into the standard SR20 fuel rail! So we got our hands on it to run some tests. Background: the injector is meant to be made by the same company that manufactures the 555cc and 740cc injectors for Nismo, Tomei, HKS etc. It has the same markings, embosses, colours, fittings and general look and feel. It also has the same “Made in Japan” on it. First off we had to make sure it did actually “plug and play” into our SR20 fuel rail, and it did. It fit like a standard injector, so full marks here. The next step was to determine if it did indeed flow 1000cc per minute so we put it into the injector flow bench and fired it up at standard pressure. Sure enough it sprayed 1000cc in one minute, in fact it flowed more than it claimed which is a good surprise as it didn’t over promise and under deliver. But on the same token it can be seen as an issue because the calibration was off and could be inconsistent from injector to injector. Injector inconsistency actually happens fairly regularly which is why when you install injectors, any brand and any type of injector, you should always flow them first and make sure to let your dyno tuner know so that the proper corrections can be programmed into your computer, or else you run the risk of running rich in one cylinder and lean in another. One very important aspect of fuel injectors is its spray pattern. You want a nice and even, finely atomised spread of fuel to be ejected from the tip of the injector, however this injector sprayed more like a two-pronged jet – one concentrated straight blast of fuel with another smaller jet of fuel spraying tangentially at approximately 15degrees. What an injector spray pattern like this will give you is poor idling, poor fuel economy, difficulty tuning, lazy transient (on/off throttle) response and a general rough running of the car. Unfortunately we had to end the testing here. We’re disappointed that it didn’t pass this phase of testing; the time, costs and effort spent on it has gone to waste, but that's R&D for you. We hope that this was helpful and if anybody would like to borrow or buy this injector you are more than welcome to, please Contact Us to arrange. Pics are up our latest blog entry here: http://www.ao-ps.com/blog.php
