    Go to the dump. They weigh you in and on the way out again to determine how much rubbish you had. They give you a printed docket as well so you can actually get two weights on two different devices for free.

    Go buy CADE box for $300 swap the bell housings and wha la new box half the price. And yes they are the same boxes i.e. RB20, S14/S13 SR20DE(T) and S13 CADE(T).

    Hey Great Turbo as most will tell you. I had the 10cm and was able to get 260RWKW @ 22 PSI with HKS Stage 1's. Wound it back to 250 as the bottom end was standard. Some will say the 10cm is laggy but i never found it to be.

  5. Dont have any pics but I have seen em all with housing off (CADE, DET SRDE and DET) and they are exactly the same and interchangeable with the only mod being the swap of bell houring from CA to SR.
  6. Yeah I did. Got the car running consistant 11's on stock bottom end. Buying a house now and having kids in a few years so pouring thousands into the car is off the cards for a few years at least. Certainly do not regret spending the money as I loved racing the thing but it just hurt to have to let it go for 26k. BTW it compression tested @ 170 across all four and was in A1 condition in and out. The guy who bought it got a bargain. Never thought it would be so hard to sell an S15.
  7. Just sold my S15 that I bought for 40 and spend 30+ on while I had it. Really enjoyed it and would not take it back but f*ck it hurts when you sell it and really realise all the money that you loose. Moral of the story is to love while you are doing it and never expect to see one cent of the money you have spent on mods again.
  8. Its calculating the amount of boost / power from the amount of air being sucked in the intake. If you are hitting a boost cut then you must do some form of aftermarket ECU or remap to solve the problem. Also a boost controller is not going to help you as it sounds as through you are running stock wastegate pressure. A boost controller can only allow you to run more than stock pressure not less.

  10. CA gearbox into SR

    Hey Mate photos not required. Just; 1. Take bell housing off both boxes ( Hoizontal bolts on outside of box and bolts in around the input shaft ) 2. Clean off old gasket. 3. Stick the bellhouing in a parts washer or degrease 4. Reapply gasket (with goo) 5. Bolt on Done. Its really really easy.

    Same done it many times. Great way to save a few dollars. I have also found that the CA18DE boxes are usually in great condition.

    ^^^^ Bugger that kinda sucks. If I am going to do that I may as well just build the SR for 300KW+. What kinda power can reliably be put through these engines with all mentioned above without the build ??

    Oh yeah definatly want to make 350RWKW but I guess the first hurdle is just to get the engine in. Not that I know f*ck all about RB's but I would assume that something like a 3540, injectors, microtech, pump etc would get it at around that mark ?? is that possbile on stock bottom end ??

    Yeah I understand what you are saying. I was also thinking of the money I could recoup from selling my old engine. I will have a Black top Sr with HKs cams, RAS, Loom, PFC, 740cc injectors, Z32 AFM, T518z, manifold, brakes, intercooler piping, brand new clutch and gearbox, new 1 piece tailshaft etc. Based on my estimations of what I can get back for all that I think I might just be able to get the conversion done with stock turb etc. I have thought about doing a built SR but it would seriously get into 8k pretty quickly with the majority of that expense being made up by maching and labour. Even with the engine built getting it to 350RWKW on pump fuel is going to be hard.
  18. Hi All My tuner tells me that my knock sensor is rooted but I am not too sure. My question is will a stuffed knock sensor still produce any knock reading or will it simply produce no data at all. Cheers

False? yeah ive heared that as well ive had both S13 and S14 gearbox's in my car and they are the same i reckon that will not work because u cant just swap a bellhousing on a SR20 gearbox because its all cast as one Hey I have an S15 with a 5 speed conversion. I have just done the CA gearbox on my car. My previous gearbox was a box out of an S13 SR. To take the bellhousing off the SR box it was a rattle gun for all the bolts that hold on the housing and in the front around the input shaft. Once they are all off the bellhousng slides off the expose the gears. I also know a S13 that does exactly the same with his gearboxes.
  20. Hey The gearsets are exactly the same. If you want a cheaper option get a CA18DE box and swap your bell housing over. Again the gearsets are identical. By getting the CA box over the SR box you will save yourself about $200 which can go towards labour if you are not doing it yourself.
  21. Hey It will depend on condition, clutch and how you drive as to how long the box will last. I run 250RWKW and race at the strip regularily and I generally break one every 10 - 12 months. Just broke one on the dyno last week I have lately however started doing it a lot cheaper. Get a CA18DE box swap the bell housing over and you have exactly the same as a SR20DET box. The gear sets are identical. CA boxes sell for about $325 as apposed to $500 for a SR20DET box. I find the CA boxes are usually in better condition as well.

    Hey Got tools ?? Do it yourself. Its not a real hard job. If you cant do it yourself I would expect about 3 - 4 hours labour to get it replaced.

    Yep I just got one the other week for $36 from memory. Get the Nissan Exa Turbo gasket. Its slightly better then the S14 ad S15 ones.
