  6. E85?

Hey guys Kind of an odd topic but had a few questions for anyone that knows stats on E85. I'm not sure if there are even places to get it in Brisbane at the moment i know, and I know that it requires a massive upgrade of the fuel system and i think there are power gains but: 1. I hear emissions are drastically reduced, if this is the case, could an E85 running silvia run a straight through (no cat) exhaust and still part Dept Trans emissions testing? 2. Does anyone know of places in Brisbane (Northside) that have E85? All my locals are all ghetto and dont stock it yet! Just some food for thought
  7. S15 as Daily

I brought one, 120 000 kms. basically stock. now at 198 000kms. never had an issue. service her and she'll behave herself
  8. Hey all. Just cleanin up the engine bay. came across two things and i was like wtf? So anyone else with a JDM S15 you may know. This is just a vaccum restrictor correct? in the line from plenum to bov. Can I take it out? Effects? Looking at the engine bay its on the left hand side near the rad support (As shown below). Lines run from carbon cannister to this this then back to plenum i think. Anyone know what it is and if so can i unplug it and just connect the two vac lines together (bypass it) Seen left of screen Any help much appreciated
  9. WTF are these?

Oh ok. So i take it ur car doesnt have the second thing? Workshop manual doesnt show either on vaccum diagram

  12. Hey all Trickin out ma engine bay to make it fully sick so need mo bling. Na lol stock radiator overflow in the S15 is starting to crack up and go all wierd. Did a bit of looking around for an alloy radiator overflow but didnt have much luck. I know you can get an alloy one for the S13's but none ive found for the 15. Anyone know of anybody on ns.com or in general that makes them specific to the S15? Any help or ideas would be appreciated. Cheers
  13. Hey all Need a little more room in the engine bay and looking to do away with the evap canister. Anyone shed any light on doing this on an S15? there are other threads about doing this on CA's and Red tops just not sure what effect it will have on Black top vct. Ideas/opinions much appreciated. Cheers
  14. S15 evap canister

Ok good stuff. i noticed one of the vac lines off the top of the canister goes across to some electronic thing with a plug and wire connected to it. the vac line then exits this and goes back to plenum i think. whats that all about?
  15. S15 evap canister

This may be a noob question then but will that vent line vent either fuel vapour or fuel straight into the engine bay?
  16. S15 evap canister

    Yeh mate the carbon cannister
  17. S15 Rad overflow

Yeh been looking on ebay for some, with little luck. Also been looking for mig welder for some DIY fun lol Think a overflow can might be a little advanced for a noob welder tho

  20. E85?

With all those things in mind i'd say this would probably be better suited to a track car setup. As appealing as the extra 100 or so hp is the expense outweighs it I think. For those of us without bottomless pockets mind you. Would be good to see what plans fuel companies have in the next couple of years, along with car manufacturers, for E85. Wonder how much it retails for per litre down south from the pump? Maybe a tolulene street setup a better idea? Tolulene an addative or a run alone fuel? Is there as much involved compared to E85 setup?
