  1. Beef Jerky will do more to help you through tough times than a higher power. Chappy could be onto something... hahaha, yeah beef Jerky is pretty good but not that rubbery fake supermarket crap.
  2. So you think it is good to have faith in a higher power but you acknowledge that having such a faith has resulted in nothing but war? Does that mean you think war is good? Touche No I don't and I'm not gonna write a book about what I believe in or preach it to millions ppl either. Nice way to twist my words
  3. What if God was one of us? In all serious though i'm in the same boat as Dandrenat, I don't believe in God or any one religion but believe in something . I think it's good to have faith in a "higher power" cause it helps get you through the tough times. I'm all for Science and common sense and believe that religion has done nothing good for the human race but create war & hatred.
  4. Offical Go-Pro Thread

Just got my first GoPro (Hero3 Black) the other day, awesome little camera, very impressed with the quality of the video esp at 720p@120fps. made a short time lapse vid of my bro washing his car the other day which turned out alright.
  5. The YouTube Thread Vol:Tres

I highly recommend this channel, some really Brain melting stuff they talk about.
  6. Can't do anything with iOS? That's the understatement of the year. If pushing processors to the point of inefficiency is your thing then go for it, I'll take smoothness and reliability any day of the week. You have to realise companies design these devices for the "typical" consumer.. Not for tech junkies that think they're entitled to get access to every part of the OS and think everything should be free. Step one - connect your phone to your computer Step two - view the contents of your phone in the file browser Step three - drag and drop your desired music into the music folder of your phone Can't do that? You must be using an iPhone..... In the 90's Macs were always faster than the PC, but in the end choice won out over efficiency. Actually drag and drop is possible with iTunes, I know it's kinda dumb not to be able to plug it into any comp without it but that's how Apple does it and if you don't like it don't use it, you have a choice. Besides most of the music I listen to these days I stream anyway through various services, I have my full media library available via iCloud so the drag and drop is a non issue for me as I never really plug it into iTunes anymore. If I want to grab some random file that's not compatible with my iPhone I have a usb stick on a keychain and I can't really remember the last time I actually used it to be honest. The file system is slowly becoming a thing of the past and cloud services will be/are the future so get on board.
  7. What exactly is "pushing processors to the point of inefficiency"? Technically the less work a CPU is doing the less efficient it is, since CPU's are generally designed to run at 100% capacity all the time - its not possible to "push" or "work" a cpu to a less efficient state. If you're talking about the efficiency of the software running on the phone, such as the OS, you must not understand OS's very well, CPU time allocation is handled at the kernel and both Apple iOS and Android use unix based kernels, Apple = BSD, Android = Linux. Considering that Linux is open source and kernel development is a HUGE part of the community, I would actually put my money on the Linux kernel being more efficient than the BSD one. Not all tech junkies want everything for free - but when you go to Google and type "unlock" it suggests "unlock iphone" first, with no Android results at all, so they are either trying to jailbreak their phone (get access to every part of the OS) or unlock their phone (a service they think should be free). Trying to promote a product by bagging out other products is a typical Apple tactic, it shows a lack of technical knowledge and doesn't really make the product look good at all. Far out mate, settle down a bit hey. I was more referring to the "hackability" of Android over iOS, as in "over clocking", isn't this what "tech junkies" like yourself enjoy doing with Android? As for the unlock thing I'm pretty sure they're talking about a device being locked to a carrier and would be the main reason ppl try to jailbreak their device. Oh and on a side note I still to this day haven't seen an Android Handset run as smooth as iOS & yes I've played with the Galaxy Note 2 with the latest OS.

  9. OMFG!! This looks better than I thought it would!! I am so pumped for this game now!!!
  10. HAHA!! Yeah Im looking forward to it. Wonder if Ill have to upgrade my PC Pretty sure it's PS3 & 360 only initially, PC will come 6-12 months later they reckon.
  11. With Forstall now gone I think you'll see a bigger push to create something fresh on the OS front, Jonathan Ive's is now head of ios software design and will most likely make some major changes "sooner" rather than later: including stripping out some of the butt-ugly Skeuomorphic design Forstall loved so much. I 100% agree that iOS has become stale compared to the competition... I actually like Windows phone 8 and would prob pick up the new Lumia if I wasn't so heavily invested in Apple's ecosystem, but to say that Apple's device have been the "same" is a bit of an over-statement, sure the fundamental look of the OS hasn't changed but the functionality has changed quite a bit. Sure they aren't pushing the envelope when it comes to radical software functionality but what they do put out there works smoothly & flawlessly 99% of the time from day 1. Hardware wise I haven't seen another phone manufacturer come close to Apples design ethics, sure the new Nokia's are pretty nice and HTC has put out some pretty good stuff but they still pale in comparison to Apples offerings. In the end this competition can only be good for Apple and their customers as they "now" are starting to realise they aren't the be-all and end-all of technology companies. P.S. You can change the wallpaper and ringtones on iOS, I think your friend was either on iOS2 or on crack haha
  12. Hardtuned Track Day 3 - Results!

Cool Video and thanks to the guy who made it for the info on the Camera rigs.
  13. I got some pics that i'll post up in the next day or so.
  14. Yeah, had heaps of fun.... Was good to meet you all.
  15. yeah helmet, passengers don't need a helmet unless you are tandem drifting on the skidpan. So this means that passengers are allowed without a helmet for what events?
  16. Oh sheit! Didn't realise there was a form! just filled it out then...lucky.
  17. GoPro HD3 Pre-Orders Open Tonight

It's just an LCD screen that replicates what's on the front screen of the GoPro. aaah i see.. thats gay.. so there's still no LCD screen on it?? surely its not that hard.. just to line it up and whatnot.. I Believe the GoPro app lets you see a live preview.
  18. I believe the dip in stock price will be short lived, analysts are still predicting $1000 share price by next year even with all the "gate-isms". We'll have to wait for Apples media event & earnings report next week to see what pans out, but I think it will jump back up pretty quickly.
  19. GoPro HD3 Pre-Orders Open Tonight

I'm prob gonna pickup a couple for work, we do video demos for Aluminium cutting machines so these would work awesome. Anyone know where I can order from yet? *Edit: All good, didn't realise you could preorder through the gopro website....2xBlack Edition pre-ordered
  20. 70 inch plus Tv

100% agree, something that large won't look all that great at 1080P. I can notice the pixels on my 55" Bravia when i'm a meter or two away so on a 70" you'll notice them even more. Want this but not at 25K!!! --->http://store.sony.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&identifier=S_4KTV
  21. So the big thing at the moment in the mobile phone market seems to be how big your screen is, we've seen it with the note, the galaxy S phones & now Apple's iPhone. Is bigger always better? or does ease of use factor in such as using your device single handedly? When does a phone become a tablet? Discuss!!
  22. The YouTube Thread Vol:Tres

Fwaar, the shockwave @ 0.21 Yeah, that was massive! App it was a natural gas tanker that exploded.
  23. actually I just checked to see if "open/launch flashlight" works and it does hahaha! So I guess Siri recognises what the app is and what keywords relates to that app? I've had a play with one. It's noticably lighter but IOS looks exactly the same as on the iPhone 4 when upgraded to IOS 6 yep, OS is pretty much exactly the same except for a couple little things. The hardware, taller screen (great for videos btw) & overall speed of the device is the main difference you'll notice. Compared to my 4S I def notice the bump in speed, going from one app to the next is very quick and seamless, web browsing is noticeably quicker also. Is it worth the upgrade in your opinion? Depends, from a iPhone 4 "Yes" from an iPhone 4S "prob not" unless you got the cash to splurge then just updating the 4S with ios6 is just as good.
