  1. Alpha Omega racing Z32 conversion comparison

An update on my build with the z32 box. I got her running last week with her forged motor and bigger injectors etc etc The gearbox conversion is running smoothly and nothing could be better. A simple conversion which is quick and easy and sits in the stock position for the 180sx. Extremely happy with the upgrade as well as everything else in my build. 2. Future JDM classics

I think they are holding value because everyone loves them. They are amazing cars that stoooed being produced. I'm sure if they were made again they would sell. Personally I would have loved to have bought a new s15 before mine. But I would never sell my s15 and 180sx personally. Not due to investment but because I love them. How could you sell your children so to speak. I lost my job and I'm still not considering that option. Did however thought my bf should sell his mr2 but that's another story. It's kind of part of the family. Got sad when he first said it but they are not that common.
  3. WOW - What happened?

All the time. This is what I get on the mobile version... I'm getting this also
  4. WOW - What happened?

Hey I'm on Silvia republic. I've built my s15 and 180sx from the ground up and constant projects and things I need to do. But I agree with a lot of stuff being said of the constant repeating of stuff like what oil do I use. Should know half the things asked but maybe I don't realise because I'm a mechanic by trade but trying to get off the tools. I try to help if no one has on fb. It annoys me more when all someone has done is out a set of wheels on and they are the best thing and everyone jumps over them like it's a million dollars. Yep it's about the efame. I think it's slowed down or I just don't take notice anymore. I made a page on fb and just update on there. Once my 180sx is finished I'll make a thread for her here. They seem to be ongoing projects. Hope to see everyone e at the track and in my case going sideways
  5. How old are u and what import you drive?

I got pulled over in my first 180sx twice. Once for speeding and was a hwy patrol and looked over my car but think he felt sorry because of how she looked. Another time my alarm went off whilst I was driving when I was 20 minutes from home in peak hour. So when I could I tried back streets. Once it did it to me at work and undone the earth for the siren and didn't help. This time I had no tools so I knew I couldn't do anything but hope I didn't get pulled over and I did 5 minutes from home by an undercover. He ended up having a screwdriver and undone the earth this time it worked. Recommended me getting a new car. My s15 never had that kind of luck always got pulled over and defected. Now she's ok when driving but learnt my lesson not to go pick my bf up if his been pulled up for speeding and lost license on the spot causing me to arrive and get defected. Only could get me for spacers and wide wheels.
  6. How old are u and what import you drive?

I'm 29 and have had my s15 for 7 years now. Bought her stock only had a 3" exhaust and a front mount. She also had to be blue and JDM at the time. Through many s15 at the time she was love at first sight so to speak. Bought her to start drifting with. Looked like a pig eventually when I decided to clean her up and make her the wide body she is today. Changed every suspension arm on her to adjustable and now has the usual upgraded mods like a 3076, injectors, put a 4.3 two way in her, z32 gearbox conversion, welded cage and some wide wheels for the body. During the widebody I got sick of driving an Astra for few months and realised she will be too good to drift so I bought my first 180sx. She wasn't looked after well by the previous owner but was before drift sales etc and could t find another one. I took care of her replacing a lot of shite and had a friend look at her when I went to buy and said was ok. Not knowing about panel stuff at the time. Had her for two years when a lady ran into her on a roundabout. Took her somewhere to straighten her up and make her into a track only car but found she already has been into an accident before this one causing her to be too much hassle to fix. So I posted wtb a 180sx and got a response. I ended up buying a project for the shell. I put my old running gear into the new one and after few months driving her after 6 or so months of hassle getting it all sorted and running and registered had noise. Needed to drift so ignored the noise. First noise was the rocker slipped and repaired that. Anyways after all the issues I ended up forging the motor and buying everything new such as gtc3071 a new fmic etc fitting z32 box and a two way still being a project for myself just lost my job and haven't been able to finish her unfortunately. Can't wait to drive her again and see how she goes. I've had a wrx and two dc2 integras one vtir and one type r before my Silvia. I'll never leave the two girls I have now and hope to get a reliable tow car in future to persue my drifting
  7. S15 setup + turbo choice

I have 1000cc injectors with my 3076 (0.63 rear housing)on low mount manifold running 16psi. It's a tad laggy but not too much. As a street car I find it goes well needs retune but other than that I'm happy with it.
  8. Need help on Gearbox Conversion

I have another account made years ago. Haven't been on in ages. I have the omega kit in both my 180sx and s15 and never had any issues. Been running in my s15 at the track and used as a daily for over 5 years after I blew my 6 speed roughly 2 years after owning her. I come from experience and owned my s15 since 22/10/2009 and have always worked on her myself. Plus I am on my second 180sx building her myself with a forged engine. I didn't waste time keeping the five speed. A sr box won't hold the power down. So miswell upgrade. I can also recommending in spending money on a two way. If can't afford it save for one. I can suggest and help a lot instead of trying to be negative to others whom try to help.

  12. Few years ago when my s15 6 speed gearbox broke I had to make a decision. I know if love to drift and didn't want to waste money on going through gear boxes. I wanted something to withstand my need for my clutch kicking obsession. So I got the Alpha Omega racing z32 box conversion. Back then the shifter Sat to the left where I had to modify the hole for its to fit. I have been using redline gear oil ever since to keep it running smooth. Over 5 years now with no issues ever since the conversion. She was used to drift and be a daily. Last month she has turned into a garage queen. When the conversion started she was stock besides a fmic and 3" exhaust. Now she runs with a 3076, bigger injectors with a haltech. Recently, I bought the new version for my 180sx. Which I plan to get running by the end of the month. I will keep updated as I progress. So far I've gotten the gearbox on and the shifter sits centre. Some modifications are required to install kit such as: Drilling and modifying the bell housing. Everything is simple and comes in the instructions. The 180sx bell housing needs to be machined 20mm to allow for the gearbox to be installed to the conversion as to thens15 is straight bolt on. Use the same fork, thrust bearing and clutch with the conversion. Can use same gearbox mount, I did. My one was new from my sr. Will require new z32 slave to fit into bell housing. You can buy their already modified tailshaft or you can get one made. Both my silvias I've replaced the diff too with a 4.3 gear ratio and a two way. Strong box to last longer and easy to make them slide. Any other questions don't hesitate to ask Xo Charlie May
  13. Need help on Gearbox Conversion

I've done the z32 conversion to mine . It's been going with the same used z32 box for over 5 years. Blew my 6 speed about a year or two of owning my s15 didn't want to go through gearboxes. She has the old version which sat to the left. I just put one in my 180sx and it sits centre. Never had an issue. My s15 uses redline year oil and I remember laced the diff with a 4.3 ratio diff from a r34 and put a two way in her. I've been sliding and used for daily for years besides the time she was off for the widebody. Has 3076, 1000cc injectors and a boy has 16psi since stock bottem end. With usual bolt ons. Not massive power but the box will handle a lot more I've done the z32 conversion to mine . It's been going with the same used z32 box for over 5 years.
