Be careful with the rims!!!

We got ours done at Mr powder coat too!!!

There isnt one rim that doesnt have the powder coat flaking off. Chips of easy when they get a knock, dont even let me tell you what happens when we get a tyre changed!!! FARK!

Come check them out at winton on the weekend i you wanna see what they look like.

Strange considering my intercooler piping doesn't have a single flake missing after being on a car thats driven daily through some of the shittest and dirtiest roadworks/industrial areas...also scraped it on a driveway once or twice which i was sure would destroy the coat, but remains perfectly intact smile.gif

we havent tried anywhere else, but i dont know if powdercoating works good if they dont prep them perfectly???

Our rims were also brand new in boxes so they didnt have to clean oil or shit too.....

yeah i'm in the same boat, the powder coat joints down my way don't want to do my wheels coz of the whole flaking off thing. so i'm thinking of just going paint....

I used to go to a joint in Airport west, let me remmeber the name off it tho.
They even powdercoated chrome parts (deff not the best surface to coat) and I had no flaking or anything, the coat lasted a few years of knocks.
I dont see what the big problem is with powdercoating wheels? If its preped decent I dont see why it cant last

Edit:
T & C powdercoating

theres a place just off somerville we've used in the past. over the road from Skyreach access?(at the lights turn left down beside them and its over the road).

we paid around $40 a rim. but we had a lot done.

just make sure they prep them properly, or you may be sorry. I would be prepared to pay a litle extra to get a better job done.

I would also try and leave the wheels for a week or two if posible, as they seem to harden up a bit. I think ours could have used that.

hmmm, interesting. well i'll be talking to a spraypainter tomorrow and i'll see what he thinks

Yeah, go there! Their called (APA) Action Powder Applicators or something like that! Just look it up in the yellow pages! Top work, they done a rocker cover 4 me ages ago! Turned out tuff & very scrach/chip proof!
