Is it possible to put the GTR diff in a 180sx.
I think I have heard the centres are the same but just want to find out if any one has done this and can tell me whats involved.
Also is the standard LSD from the GTR and the GTST the same?

chances are you could.. nothing is impossible..

but the easiest to fit and find would be any of the 200sx diffs.

I've heard the r32 or r33?? (not sure which one or both?) diffs are a fairly simple bolt in replacement.

However, i don't know about the GTR fitting?

I have heard the same thing but not sure as to how true it is. Thats why I was hopeing that some one might have done the conversion before.

the r32gtst diff should bolt straight up, but i think the gtr diff is similar to the s15 diff which requires modification to fit in the s13

R33 GTR r200 is helical , the manual s15's use the same center. Your better off sourcing one from an s15 if anything.

Also you will need bits and pieces from each diff, like halfshafts, front halfs etc.. Skyline halfshafts are from memory 5 bolt, whilst silvia use 6bolt. Then u run into issues of halfshaft length....

at the end of the excercise and out of poket (assuming an GTR owner will charge thru the roof for their helical center) you better off purchasing an proper 1.5 or 2 way lsd in the first place.

You dont want to use any R200 V Lsd's from any nissan as a replacement, as they WILL just go single spinner. If your handy with tools you can shim your r200 for under $8 and that should last you a while depending on how you drive.

and no GTST and GTR lsd centers are different. Both are R200's, but the GTST is viscous like the majority of turbo sils, 300zx, 32,33gtst,cefiro, laurel, autos15,s14 etc etc. GTR lsd center is helical. But still uses the 200mm crownwheel... hence the "R200".... R'180' is an 180mm crowwheel... etc...
