Was that the one with a few cracks in the paint or something? How much did you end up getting it for?

I've made some decent progress on my trailer rebuild. Will post pics later.

I got my sil back from camo's, put a stock rear bar on for now, he also pulled my rear guards a bit for me... its subtle but they look much more even with the wheels now, and don't scrub at all... its weird seeing it with a stock rear bar again, and now can see how massive my varex cannon is since its not hiding behind a rear bar anymore.. i dunno, doesn't look half bad i spose.. with any luck i'll find another rear bar down the track tho.. oh, the best bit was i got reimbursed since the same rear bar could not be sourced... car fixed, guards sorted, and i get paid... can't argue with that! :)

My 'mid season freshen up' is coming along nicely, fingers crossed car will be all back together late next week.

- JHH is finishing off the engine refresh which includes HKS headgasket, new bearings, rings and studs (on top of my previous forged build)
- OS Giken Twin plate came back from DCS rebuild
- Tomei expreme manifold (which had cracked) is off getting tig'ed and HPC coated
- Crap load of seals and gaskets have started arriving and doing a proper job of the oil cooler setup with a Taark bolt on oil adapter.

Will post up some pics as it comes back together.

Still need to make a visit to pirtek for hose, but I will just be using industrial standard fluid hose not going braided. I dont need bling.

Looks good Clint but what are the control arms doing at that height?

Jared can you give me a ball park on what they charged you for the freshen up?

Here are the pictures of the trailer i'm refurbing so I can deregister my car and tow it to track days etc.

The original trailer. You can't see how bent the tray was from this photo but you get the idea pretty quick with the following photos.
Attached File  Traileroriginal.jpg   36.97K   250 downloads

The bent platform and structural brackets removed as well as wheel guards.
Attached File  P1000946.JPG   98.58K   247 downloadsAttached File  P1000947.JPG   54.17K   251 downloadsAttached File  P1000945.JPG   60.28K   238 downloads

New structural brackets welded in place and a coat of silver over the welds
Attached File  P1000950.JPG   58.19K   244 downloads

New checkerplate ramps installed and welded in place. Still have more to do as you can see.
Attached File  P1000953.JPG   111.89K   266 downloadsAttached File  P1000955.JPG   104.13K   246 downloads

I've got new mud guards and all new lights but need to flip the trailer over first to do all the welds underneath then I will install these. The trailer got a fair bit more bracing under the checkerplate as well as it was quite flimsy.

Mase, about 3k I can give you a break down once it is done. The head is getting serviced at the same time (stripped and cleaned, reseat valves, set valve heights and spring pressures). I could have saved some money by ordering parts from Japan but until it was pulled down we weren't sure what it needed so it would have been another delay. So far so good with JHH. Wil took the time to ask me how I use the engine and what I turn it to, what oil I use etc. He is building the engine and setting the tolerances to suit.

it took a fair bit of intense negotiating but i got him down to $6,200 with wheels etc but no coilovers, it only had tanabe brand coilovers in there anyway, so no big loss ^_^

Finally doing some more to my car.

Putting my HKS Step 3s in with RAS, springs and cam gears
eBoost2
Ultragate38
New headgasket
New intake piping. the pod filter is right on the turbo so just sucking all sorts of hot air.

Then a tune when I could be bothered.

^^ They have to pull the box out, pull it apart (and i mean apart not just open it up) and replace the circlip. It's more expensive than getting a 5 speed. Place in Sydney does/ did them and were charging $250 for the circlip (titanium) and about $1k for the labour. I looked into it back in the day.

Blerg, don't want a 5 speed :(. Will be pulling the box out myself anyway, may as well get it done while it is out. Just need to find somewhere that does it. Who was the company in Syd?
