Cars going into Carco on Monday.
Looks like i'm gonna have a crossover style individual throttle body setup :D
Dropping the crossmember down a fair bit, good thing is that this will correct me steering geometry due to the RCAs being slightly too big.

Aurion motor has a few factory goodies, like a cartridge type filter in the sump, (easy oil changes :) ) an engine oil heat exchanger, which i'm just gonna re plumb into the oil cooler instead.

I'd have never thought of fitting an Orion motor, but are these the same as they put in Rav4's and pretty much everything else these days? If so they may be designed to fit a wide variety like the VQ series.

The 2S bellhousing is gonna have to be modified, the dowels line up, but will put the engine or gbox on a 35deg angle :S

New clutch and flywheel :)

Had to slightly elongate the bolt holes to suit the Aurion Crank, but putting in dowels to be safe

doesn't look like much meat to elongate bolt holes in, but I'm sure you know what you are doing

I'd love to see a good 3RZ in an 86, but I do think that alloy V6's are the way of the future

yeah, elongating's a bit iffy, but the dowels should add some extra support...

Quick update, motor and gearbox are in!
took a bit of fiddling and a few bellhousings but its there.
Ended up using a 2s bellhousing.
may have to have the engine sitting on a slight lean so gear lever isn't coming out the side of the trans tunnel.

Already have the throttles ready :)
Don't want to push my luck getting it ready for ADGP, but I'll have them on for next year

Hurry up and finish it Steve, especially after bailing from Japan to do this.

Car still needs a bit of work, he'll be pushing it hard to get it ready for ADGP in September.

BTW, is it just me, or do the old arms look better than the new ones????

lol, thanks for pointing that out Eiji. Can always count on you to find the mistakes :P

Haven't had the car running to see how the clutch feels, but I have out a heavy duty organic in my girlfriend Z32 TT and it's feels fine. Even has a Daikin pressure plate.

Was cool to meet ya Mez, hopefully see ya at ADGP :)

Engine Weight? Flywheel? Bellhousing?

we're using a 3sgte flywheel and clutch. im not sure of the weight but and steve i can pick it up without too many problems! going off that, it is close to the weight of a 4AG. we have a few bell housings that are close to fitting. but one of the bigger problems we have come across is the mounting of the starter motor. cause in the camry its mounted on the gear box side so there is no hole on the engine side to put the starter motor through.

there is an off road buggy in aus with a 2GR twin turbo pumping out 600KW at the flywheel on 18psi! when the engine had stock internals they were running it at like 10psi and making around 400kw at the flywheel. im going to make a BIG call here but i think theyre the new 2JZ.

Peter Kittle's buggy

Starting to feel the crunch now!
Its getting there though.

After trying out a few pipe designs, we figured that this layout wouldn't work:

This one would work a little better I think...

Putting theory into practice:

One side done!

Rinse and repeat for the other side! :)
