hey guys.
after a dyno sheet of both an apexi ax53b70 turbo on both an sr20 and an rb20

what power and response should this turbo make on both?

after some info on how ppl have gone with it because it quite frankly sux on my rb20 r32. gets 220 @ 17psi and start to boost at 5000rpm.
so assuming theres something wrong with my car.

need to know whether i should look for a problem with my rb or just do an sr conversion.

all feedback appriciated.

thanks

well the turbos practiically new and the guy a bought it from had a responsive 250kw atw on his stock motor rb20det and been reading of similar results on sr's.

searched everywhere and yet to find a dyno sheet/ propper opinions over 1 sentance long.
atm at 17psi i get 220kw at 5500kw which feels like poo and cant hold skids well at all..

going to take the cat back off tonight and see if thats the problem.
the only other thing i can think of is boost leaks and the fact im running the boost controller line fron the inlet manifold and not the i/c piping.

i got one on my R34 (400ps model). spools at idle, currently only running 1 bar until i get ecu/tuned but it hits full boost by 3k, before we limited it we hit 20psi by 4k if that helps.

should have 260rwkw + 450-500 torques once im done.
well its the correct apexi turbo for the rb20 accoding to nengun (p25) and the specs are close to that of a gt rs. theres enough ppl out there saying the turbos responsive to make me think theses something else wrong with the car effecting it.

ive got a 2530 at my house which im kinda inclined to put on but much rather work out the apexi turbo is i can as its supposed to be a much better turbo.

ill investigate a couple routes and c what i come up with. compression check etc..

cheers

u know this how...

heard plenty of opinions that the ax53b70 is prefered over the hks gt-rs in some cases...

think theres something up with my car causing it to perform bad

know this because.....

the 2530 is rated to around 320hp and the 2871r is rated anywhere from 350-400hp depending on exhaust housing and trim of impeller/exhaust wheel.

especially on the RB20 which isnt known for great low down power it'll feel much much better
