Ok so we are all pretty now well aware in the US they have been having some problems with the new R35s gear boxes when people launch the car hard. In fact if done more than a hand full of times it actually voids the warranty.

Well apparently the 2010 model R35 has software updates to sort out the problems with the launch control. AND APPARENTLY the LC was never intended to improve the cars 0-100 times. But infact supposed to be use to get out of mud and snow.

Anyway here is the video.

Cop out? or Genuine?

dont worry, Us Aussies dont even get the option of LC.

What would the percentage be where the average R35 GTR is actually driven in snow or mud... i'd say less than 0.1%. Owners of the GTR generally do not purchase the car for transporting from A-B, but have spirited driving in mind on a bitumen surface. I'd suggest that Nissan employ someone who can make up better excuses...

not the launch control but i know that was the reason for allowing the stability control etc to be turned off.

you can't get 0-100 times the same as or slightly quicker without the LC anyway, as the yanks have proven.

its only a controversy thanks to the interwebz and the anti-GTR brigade (mainly corvette and porsche drivers) who have been foaming at the mouth claiming "warranty void" everywhere a GTR is mentioned

out of all the cars sold only a handful broke the boxes, so its only logical for nissan to update the software
