hey just wondering on the legallity of getn rid of my ca18de n puttin in probs sr20 keepin in mind gta b p'plate legal aswell any advice much appreciated guys

i still think you need a mod plate what ever engine you swap it too (mite be wrong)

but i think it's ezy as piss to get one for a CA to SR swap

i thought p platers werent allowed to drive turbos anyway

you will need an engineers cert no matter what other engine you put in, unless it is the same motor

What state are you in its different in every state.

In Queensland you can swap any engine into a car (without approval) provided that engine was offered by the manufacturer for that particular model of car, and that all steering, braking, suspension components are the same as a vehicle that was originally produced with that particular engine.

ie: Ca18de to Sr20det swap (on s13 or 180sx) is fine as long as brakes are upgraded (pretty sure sr20 cars use the same steering rack and suspension as ca's)

What about a swap to an RB20/25 or 26. Maybe use the RB30 block and use a RB25 head. Some people are doing this in the UK
