If you don't then don't read the thread.
This is general chat, not chat about what Sars wants to talk about.

We all know you think they are cool.
definately a fair point. but why does it matter? can't you just get on with your own life? forget about what other people are doing. i mean, you get annoyed and start a thread about people who drive with fog lights on....seriously...you have issues. and yes im sure everyone knows i think fog lights are cool......

im prepared to be flamed for this...

i see noting wrong with these lights , so wat if ppl use it as a look at my car factor, good on them if they enjoy there car and want others to look at it,
and i think the light are a sweet look at night. i know during the day they serve no purpose but i know i wouldnt have em on in the day but good on others if they do, maybe they got something stuck in there eye and it looks foggy :P

most cars that have them on all the time use them as coloured driving lights, and dont really effect other ppl on the road coz they arent proper fog lights

i think they look good but it's a shame they're illegal. i got pulled over years ago in an mx-6 for having them on.

Alot of people around here drive with their lights on 24/7, and most new cars will automatically turn them on no matter the weather or time of day, it does make you more noticeable to oncoming traffic which is handy i guess. It gets anoying...but you know he's there don't ya :P

but i live in the country, theres only 2 s13's here anyway. The rest are falcadores or shooting utes with about 10 different spotlights and another 10 fog lights....

Yer it's 2 chambers. Lighting-wise they're not that good and won't really provide you with much more usable light than a candle so i upgraded to the superior white xenon type globes which are a 30% improvement over stock and now i can finally see where i'm going in the dark lol  Ah well you gotta sacrifice looks for practicality i guess.

f**k ya all are a bunch of whingers! ...I don't give a shit so long as they don't blind/dazzle or majorly distract others on the road.

I haven't read all this but have people noticed it's not just S13's - in fact it's mainly Commodore HSV's and Falcons. It's bloody annoying for the simple fact that most of the time they are not aimed properly so they can be quite blinding. Secondly on allot of cars they are positioned quite close to the main low beam so the two sources of light converge over a large distance to become a singular very bright beam of light.

If it's not acceptable to drive with your high beams on, why do people think it's okay to drive around with driving lights and low beam lights on at the same time? It's just as bad for other motorists. It's a total lack of consideration, as if to say 'I don't give a shit who I'm blinding as long as I can see'.

As far as having them on during the day it's wank factor. Nothing more case closed.

I find it so annoying at night in fact that I did a little research on the subject and looked up the legislation on this. Basically the law goes a little like this:

Low beam driving lights must by law be wired so that only one pair of low beam headlamps can be enabled at any time. This includes driving lights. It is illegal to have more than one pair of lights on for low beam conditions. Auxiliary driving lights must for this reason be wired so that they can only be switched on in addition to high beam headlamps.

Fog lights can be used at any time of day as long as they are aimed correctly however it is advised that they only be used during times of fog.

So the question is: How do manufacturers like these dickheads at Holden sell cars that can have their driving lights switched on all the time and in addition to low beam headlamps? How do they pass ADRS or roadworthy inspections for that matter?
Answer: Easy, it's a technicality - call them fog lights and it's okay. The law doesn't state that a fog light must be yellow or amber to be a fog light so any numb nut can call a driving light a fog light.

So manufacturers get away with it so their customers can drive with one hand on their cock and the other on the wheel while they blind everyone with their badly aimed driving lights switched on in conjunction with their low beam headlamps.

For people who insist on driving with their fog lights on... How bout you just take your hand off it and be normal for two seconds instead of trying to attract attention and piss everyone off eh?

Oh yeah... for he record I voted 'ghey'
