S15 owners with splits placement of crossovers and tweeter

Tweeters are either gonna be on the kick panels or flush mounted onto the door skin next to standard speaker hole. I really don't want to cut door trims or plastic panels but this appears to be only option at present.
So what have all you other S15 owners done with your set up.

Tweeter in the plastic bit surrounding door handle. You're going to have to cut a hole unfortunately but replacement plastic bit shouldn't cost that much.
Midrange in the same place as standard speaker. I'm running 6.5 inch splits.

Bad idea to put your tweeters where i have... the treble is too 'bright' with my tweeter placement... try to put it low... as close to the woofer as possible.

I thought everyone put the tweeter up high like that? I've heard heaps say it sounds better up closer to your ear???

Ultimately the tweeter and the mid-range are both the same distance away from your ear to ensure that the music from both hits your ears at the same time. The easiest way to achieve this is to put them next to eachother.
You can heighten your sound stage by placing them higher in your car but if you still achieve the same physical distance then you're probably doing even better

In the plastic door handle surround u will notice that there is a circle section visible on the inside of the surround. My tweeters fit perfect in there so i drilled that out and placed them there. I attentuated the tweeters down to -4dB.
I know that this isnt the best position of the tweeters for imaging and staging but I am really happy with the sound. I dont find much seperation plus I like a bit of treble so its perfect for what I want, listening to R&B.

The crossovers are mounted up in the dash. ie behind the steering cluster and centre cosole etc.
Stealth install.... (not that its a big system or anything)

My mate has set his tweeters in the corners of the dash, they're sitting on little feet which are stuck on to the dash.

i think i am going to have to do the same...where abouts inside the door trim did u put the crossover? i have found a point, wil have to make a bracket, but can mount it in between the metal rods that open and close door and the electric window tracks. fits there perfect just a c*** to secure it!!

Easy,
one screw in the phone/wallet holder thing just pop the cap in the bottom, then one behind door handle once again pop off the plastic cap thing.
then just pop all the plastic srews out from around the outside, then just lift the trim up

As for preventing water damage to the cross over, just try to cover the unit to prevent moisture from getting into it.
